Four Pepper Stir-Fry

This is a very simple and quick dinner I made up one night with what was in the fridge. It is even tastier the next day! Feel free to add or subtract other ingredients if you like. (I used hot pepper infused olive oil for a bit of bite.) — posted by Teasaidh More: continued [...]

Sweet Braised Whole Scallions (Molly Stevens)

This would be a fabulous, easy side dish for Thanksgiving. "As the scallions braise, the sweet anise flavor of the tarragon mingles with their oniony juices, giving the whole dish a candy-like sweetness. If you can?t find fresh tarragon, or simply don?t care for its taste, substitute fresh parsley or omit the herb altogether. The [...]

Good Grains Gf Sandwich Bread

This is a GF bread that is delicious and soft. It makes great sandwiches and is more nutritious due to its whole grain flour mix. I kept on experimenting until I came up with a bread I liked. — posted by Sylvan Green More: continued here

Sausage, Corn and Roasted Red Pepper Soup

Slightly modified from here: http://catesworldkitchen.com/2009/08/corn-and-roasted-red-pepper-soup/ It thickens up considerably in the fridge overnight. Delicious and healthy. The recipe called for fresh corn, but all I could manage in the middle of fall was frozen. — posted by Andrew Mollmann More: continued here

Holiday Prelude to Key West

This past Tuesday I was privileged to attend a friend’s Christmas open house. Oh, it wasn’t any typical open house. This one was being held in her wonderful greenhouse—a haven for her and her husband’s orchid collection, as well, as many other fabulous horticultural examples. It seemed like a great escape from the 20 inches [...]
